NCIS TV Drama

Narrative
This clip suggest that it is related to high school and troubled teenagers since the new arrival of Gabriella Wark. It also introduces the character who is the new principle for the school. The new principle is here to imporve the school. This may not go to plan as the new bad girl is introduced and she may make the principles goals harder for him. The parents of the new character Gabriella are rich and the students of the school may look at her differently as well as her looking at them differently.

Character
In this Tv Drama there are loads of stereotypes such as "cool kids" who have behanviour issues and are rude to staff and students as well as damaging the school properties. There are kids such as "nerd" who are known as good students and complete there homeworks and they obey the school rules. There are also some students who are "rich and spoilt" also and example is Gabriella who thinks shes better than others because her parents treats her with more expensive products than normal people.

Iconography
In Waterloo Road there are many iconography such as uniform to show that they are in school as its based on school drama. Also is shows students wearing there bags as well as having there subject books and there school equipment. From this we can see its associated with school-work etc.

Setting
It is clear that its set in a high school inparticular where a lot of events happen such as students fighting, bad behaviour towards staff and class distruptions. This also relates to day to day life that happens in school in reality. It is also mainly based on teenagers.

Narrative theory:blog task

Todorov: equilibrium

The equilibrium for Captain America: Civil War is when the avengers fight for there right with each other. The disequilibrium is when one of the members of the iron man side gets killed by accident and also was a really good friend to iron man as well as finding out who killed his father in the past. The tensions build up as iron man is extremely angry and wants revenge and find out who killed his father. The new equilibrium is where a big fight occured with iron man and captain america because of the death of iron mans best friend and father. It did not end well for some characters.

Propp: character types

It is clear to see within the trailer that there are different character types as proposed by Vladimir Propp. In this trailer there are many heroes such as Captain America(Chris Evans),Bucky(Sebastian Stan),Iron Man(Robert Downey Jr.)Sam Wilson(Anthony Mackie)Wanda Maxi...(Elizabeth Olsen)Black Widow(Scarlett Johansson)Clint Barton(Jeremy Renner)Ant-Man(Paul Rudd) and many more heroes. All these heroes help the innocent people from dying but in this film they face each other for justice. These characters are the ones to watch in the film.

Barthes: enigma and action codes

The movie trailer is full of Barthes enigma and action code. It is deisgned to draw attention from the audience to encourage them to watch it even more as well answering there questions about the film. The main enigma codes the audience are willing to see is whether the avengers will reunite back together or stay enemies with each other..

Evaluated production work: Assignment 2

1) What typical features (conventions) of a film poster have you used? How do they help to make the poster effective in attracting an audience? (Key conventions include title, release date, institutional information, reviews, a central image etc.)

When researching fighting film posters, I found out they all have something in common which is a central image. For that reason I used the main character for the central image and wearing a martial art suit to make it more related to fighting. In many film posters people use a central image to show the audience the important characters and to show there attentiveness towards the main character for the upcoming film. In order to make the central image stand out even more, i used a UFC cage as its background to make it more interesting for the audience. As well as using a central image, i also used a tagline "FAMILY IS WORTH FIGHTING FOR" which will make the audience imagine what will happen during the film. The title "VENGEANCE" tells the audience what the film is based on which is fighting. The institutional information is stationed at the bottom of the film poster. Even more, the institutional information is to see who are the main people who created the film etc.

2) What is the genre of your film? How would your target audience know this from design of your poster? E.g. Colour scheme, font choice, mise-en-scene (props, costume, character, setting).

The genre of the film is Action/Drama/Fighting from the poster you can tell that these these genre's link to the poster because it is about fighting and some drama also with a lot of action. The costume also links to the fighting genre as the main character is wearing a martial art suit to also support the background.Which also means it is related to sport as martial arts is a type of activity.

 3) What institutional information have you used to try and sell the film and how does this appeal to the audience? E.g. 'From the Producers of...' / Star power / Directors / Reviews.

With institution information i have used the Warner brothers as i would want to make my film as they are a successful business. I have also included positive reviews to show the audience how amazing the film is. I also included the insitutional information at the bottom of the film poster. This will encourage audience to go watch it as they enjoyed other films by the same director.

 4) Where are there examples of synergy between your storyboard and trailer? (Synergy is the link or interaction between two different media texts).
There is synergy between my poster and storyboard. This is because i used the main character for my storyboard as well as using him for my central image. I have also began my storyboared with the warner brother logo also i used the logo to put in my film poster to show its more professional and a better look for my movie.

5) What representations have you used in your film? E.g. gender / race / age / nationality / place)? Are these reinforcing or challenging stereotypes? This is a good BBC Bitesize page on the key concept of Representation that will help with this question.
The representation i have used in my film is gender which is mainly based on men fighting. The women are part of relationships in these types of movies. The race is mixed and we dont tolerate racism in fighting movies. The age is also mixed from any ages to 10+ and beyond. The place is mainly based in Indonesia in the main parts of the film. The nationality is a various which is all sorts of different kind of nationality in the film.

Representation Analysis

In the trailer for Captain America men are represented as the heroes protecting the victims from the "enemies". Hollywood action films support the representation of men as they are heroes and they affect the world as they are trustworthy and brave. Men are also known for being very protective towards its country. There are not as much women as men in this trailer. This may effect audience that this trailer is discriminated towards women. The authority is represented for the audience to show us that police are there just in case.

This makes the audience know what date the movie is and they can take a day of work or depending on the range of ages in advanced so they can see the film.

Production blurb:
The production blurb is information on who created the film and etc. This may be important to some audiences as they may want to know who is the director and etc.

Film trailer key conventions
In this trailer they have used a clear layout and opening to the trailer. At the beginning it starts off with someone narrating and then shows the institutional logo which is called "Marvel". Later on it then follows by introducing the main character Chris Evans and also including dialogue between the scenes of the trailer. During the middle and end some action occurs with sound also displaying the release date which is the 6th of May 2016. A few scenes of fast cuts appear during the fighting/action scenes and the music becomes more intense during the fight but then cuts off at the end of the title of the movie. At the end of the trailer they introduce a final character and then suddenly showing social media, release date and many more. This movie did not include the name of the people in the trailer which could mean that these characters are already well known around the world. These character are Chris Evans and Robert Downey JR which they are well known in Marvel movies specifically.

Its a social thing:

Many people disliked the movie because new characters out of no where came without a good purpose. But some people really enjoyed it and they thought it was the best movie. The fist quote "The WINTER SOLDIER is the best MCU film, but its sequel has a serious identity crisis" The second quote " I would give it 0/10 But had to settle for the lowest which was 1/10.
